zero0w
gaim 0.60 final is released! http://sourceforge.net/projects/gaim/ It is supposed to have file-transfer function built-in according to the CVS version released before. I tried to recompile the src rpm in MDK-9.1 but it indicated the GTK 2.0.0 version is missing, what's wrong with it? Also the feature change list: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.p...lease_id=151016
zero0w
Figure it out, just ignore the dependency with --nodeps and the rpm will install fine. Also Texstar had made a build for Mdk 9.1. You can grab it from here.

Michel
I've had this problem also with xine, although I believe gtk 2.0 was installed..Anyone had problems with this detection, or not?
phunni
Installed it and it's great! Can't get file transfer to work though - I am behind a firewall, is this likely to be an issue and how could I fix it? Also, I can see how I can receive files - but is it possible to send them? If so how?
tyme
right click on a persons screenname and there is a "send file" option.
phunni
Hmmmm - I don't get that option. I assume you mean in the buddy list, although I have tried right clicking on a name in the converstation window as well. As far as the recieving files problem goes - I guess it probably is my firewall. It seems that the easiest way to fix it would be to trust the host sending the file - does anyone know which server is used to send files via msn? tyme
oh, i don't know about sending files with msn. i only use gaim for AIM, so if you're talking about sending files over MSN i'm not sure how that works. but for me, w/aim users, if i right click on their name on the buddy list there is a "Send File" option right below the "Direct IM" option. Michel
Don't wanna disappoint you, but didn't thought that sending of files wasn't supported for the msnprotocol(was suprised to read it here...or got the impression), but to be sure, youi can visit the gaim-website..
