ilia_kr
Hi, few minutes ago i've installed xfce using urpmi. It worked nicely, but when i load it i couldn't see a taskbar. In addition, there is no terminal (xfceterm) although its icon presents. How do i fix that?
Ixthusdan
Does it have a task bar? You should have access to roght-click and/or left-click menus.

ilia_kr
No, there is no xfce-taskbar there.
arctic
Are you sure that you installed the taskbar package for xfce4 with urpmi?
scarecrow
It seems that you have only installed the core XFCE4 binaries, but not the addons as well. Can you doublecjheck your urpmi repos?
ilia_kr
Are you sure that you installed the taskbar package for xfce4 with urpmi? 100%. When i tipe 'xftaskbar4' in a terminal it appears, as long as there is at least one running program; else - it dissapears again.
paul
have you tried xftaskbar4 & close the terminal then log out and save your session?
ilia_kr
have you triedxftaskbar4 & close the terminal then log out and save your session? Yes, didn't help. Does XFCE saves the session automaticly, or i should tell it? Becouse if it doesn't, than i should try to do what you said one more time. paul
no .. you have to tell it to save the session. xfce4 session are pretty new tho' so it wouldn't surprise me if mandriva doesn't have xfce4 sessions

paul
mmm this part I don't know :| It just seems to work "out of the box" with gentoo, but I suspect because there are a lot of gentoo users who use xfce4
