ianw1974
Try pressing CTRL-ALT-F1, and see if you can get a console prompt. It could be that it just needs configuring correctly. If you can login at prompt, then run XFdrake and reconfigure your video.

ianw1974
Did you have your kernel-source installed when you installed the rpm? No module has been compiled into the kernel, or the one that has been installed with the rpm, doesn't match your kernel version. Remove the rpm, and install your kernel-source, and try again. However, with LE2005 you shouldn't have to use the ATI drivers.

KRX_NuTTy
Lo again well after trying and trying i couldnt get them drivers on so i went to another distro and bingo they went on smooth without any glitches atall .. so i guess mandriva for me is a no no but thanks for your time and patience in helping me
ianw1974
What distro did you choose in the end? Chances are though we could have gotten Mandriva to work, it's just a case of ensuring all the requirements to install the driver are in place, etc, etc. Can sometimes be a fine art, and using the console a lot more and viewing any output for errors. But glad your up and running with a distro at least!
