Edd
Everytime I reboot, KMix mutes and reduces all my volume levels to zero. Anyway I can make it remember my volume settings on reboot? Thanks :) Edited July 4, 2005 by Edd
devries
Adjsut the settings to your liking, open a console, log in as root and type: alsactl -store

Edd
I just tried your suggestion, but it still remains muted on boot. Any thing else I can try?
DragonMage
It is possible that it's KDE/artsd that mutes your mixer settings. In your kmix, go into your menu Settings -> Configure Kmix. See if the Restore Volumes on Login is turned on or off.
scarecrow
If you have made some KDE changes, simply (re) assign your current user to the "audio" group (simplest way is using MCC to do that, although CLI and webmin should also work fine). After doing that, simply log off and then back on.
