Guest redhead
I have recently upgraded to 10.2 and while reconfiguring everything, had several stalled attempts to download the latest nVidia drivers from their site. I could retry the dl and get a little bit farther each time, but never successful directly from nVidia. I could dl the entire SP2 from microsoft.com everytime. Anyone else have similar problems with downloading from nVidia? [moved from Installing Mandrake by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
polemicz
What program are you downloading from? I once had a similar problem a few years ago and my problem was hard drive space. It was putting things first in /tmp, but those were large files (iso's). But more details on how you are downloading would help.
Dakota
I have the same problem using Firefox. I have noticed the stalls downloading nvidia drivers and just today downloading flash from macromedia. Konqueror works fine on these sites. If I use the retry feature in Firefox it works, comes at 300+ Dakota
Qchem
Try switching off IPv6 in firefox - go to about:config, find the preference network.dns.disableIPv6 and set the value to true.
Guest redhead
Thanks for the feedback. I've disabled IPV6 already. Once again this only happens when downloading from NVidia. Any other site dl's perfectly. Haven't tried again. maybe they were just really busy.
arctic
try using wget if possible or try to download the package while pinging the site from a terminal. maybe that will keep the connection to their server alive.
