wramas Posted September 20, 2004 Author Report Share Posted September 20, 2004 I installed mandrake 10 in my pc in a network. Our network connection is through LAN and most of the machines are using windows os. We have a domain server. When I smoothly installed my linux box it was perfect. I can view some pc connected in the network using smb4k but i can't access some domain server resources (Like files from server). Use smb4k, some domain needs authentication/permission like username and a password so that you can browse its shared files. a13x Posted September 21, 2004 Report Share Posted September 21, 2004 You know, there is a tool that makes setting up all the network stuff very easy. It's part of the Gnome System Tools. Go to: System -> Configuration -> Packaging -> Install Software. Type gnome in the search field. In the list of displayed results there should be something like: gnome-system-tools-xxxxxx. Install it. After this go to: System -> Configuration -> Networking -> Networking. There you can configure all your network settings. If you don't have the OE version than try searching for gnome-system-tools-xxxx at rpm.pbone.net. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
