Linux_Fan
I did some small upgrades (gcc and glibc) via the RPM-tool in, I think it is called, a terminal (like the dos-box of windows). In the past I rode a tip on this forum about upgrading via the RPM-tool instead of using one of the two KDE-versions. My question is: When I look in Software Manager and search for 'gcc' in the installed-session of that it, I still see the old version. It seams that Software Manager is not synchronized with the actual list of versions. How can I synchronize the list in Software Manager with the information I got when using the RPM-tool in a terminal?
mtweidmann
Possibly a stupid question, but you are sure the rpms installed properly? Try doing the same search in Kpackage, and seeing if it gives the smae answer.
Ixthusdan
Which tool did you use? rpm or urpmi?
bvc
Make sure there's no rpm proccesses running and go to /var/lib/rpm. If there're any _db.0x files, delete them and run rpm --rebuilddb. See if that helps.
Linux_Fan
mtweidmann) I looked in Kpackage and in there I see the right version number of those packages I updated. It seems that Software Manager not autmatically updated his own list. Ixthusdan) I used rpm. bvc) I will try this asap and will let you know.
