For example things such as a microphone have a red light because I'm not using it... Cristjan Posted July 31, 2004 Author Report Share Posted July 31, 2004 (edited) I believe dl nforce drivers http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0274 will not solve the problem of not being able to adjust volume level,( except on/off ) So the best resolution is to get pc speakers... Kmix is KDE specific. aumix will set & save sound volumes for the whole system. go to kicker->multimedia->sound->aumix. if it's not there, install it with either urpmi aumix (in terminal as root) or use Mandrake Control Center->software management->install software. And you could try another module (driver) if there is any, for your card. devries Posted August 5, 2004 Report Share Posted August 5, 2004 Check if aumix has really been closed (ps -aux | grep aumix) and try restarting alsa (servive alsa restart).
