Valavien
Hi all, While I use Easy Urpmi to add sites to the urpmi, are there other ftp sites that people have added to their list and why? I am sure there are heaps of sources available that people have come across that could be useful for everyone :)
armondf
I think that most people add their own localised FTP mirrors of all the different sources. Contrib seems to have the most "tertiary" application sources. Regards, Armond

SwiftDeath
Sweet, I'm adding that to my urpmi sources as well. Do you have any clue how to have it tell you what source your downloading from while in urpmi/rpmdrake.
devries
The package-name is usually a clue (xxxxxx-plf.rpm) and you can ofcourse select the 'media' you want to install from. (urpmi --media plf xxxxx)
Valavien
I have noticed that a few rpm ftp sites don't have hdlist. Is it possible to still add them?
devries
No, but if you want to install multiple packages at the same time (because of dependency issues or whatever) you can download them your HD, put them in a folder and add the folder to your stable of repositories..
