which Linux distro for 1998 PC ?

The problem I would see with running an old distro is updates(security & bug fixes).

 

You should really consider looking into something like vector or slackware.

Great choice for that pentium 133 or above. 32 megs of ram minimum 64 megs suggested for optimum gui performance. Hard drive space required 650 megs.
