snowdrift Posted December 9, 2003 Share Posted December 9, 2003 I keep getting the following error: unable to take medium "main" into account as no list file [/var/lib/urpmi/list.main] exists When I try to update the sources for main, contrib occurs the same way and so does updates. I get errors similar tot he one above, about how the file does not exist or could not be updated. I am in as root. Any ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

snowdrift Posted December 10, 2003 Author Share Posted December 10, 2003 With the help yesterday from Michel I did in fact do a rpm --rebuilddb and then using the -hf switch got the sources added and the lists created. sglafata Posted December 12, 2003 Share Posted December 12, 2003 I was having problems after I downloaded the update for rpmdrake. What I did was follow the paths in a browser and found that the path in rpmdrake was incorrect and I manually edited the sources to the correct location of the hdlists. I also had set up shorewall and had to open port 21 for rpmdrake to connect to the FTP sites to download the updates. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
