  1. I dont ****ing believe this, here it is again mandriva inventing and putting kde files in other packages, this is really unbelievable, here is happening the same as in ksvn. Anyway im fixing this, new kdeadmin will be released in some minutes.

    K3b [solved]

    there are new k3b versions at MDE: ]$ ls *k3b* k3b-1.0-0.rc2.2.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm k3b-1.0-0.svn615773.1.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm k3b-dvd-1.0-0.rc2.2.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm k3b-dvd-1.0-0.svn615773.1.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm libk3b2-1.0-0.rc2.2.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm libk3b2-1.0-0.svn615773.1.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm libk3b2-devel-1.0-0.rc2.2.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm libk3b2-devel-1.0-0.svn615773.1.mdv2007.0.mde.i586.rpm This of course for arch x86 but theres also k3b rpms for x86_64 respectively
  3. Also dont advise you to run 3D desktop since still is a litle bugy and eats a lot of system memory but now its time for you to try kde-3.5.5 MDE :)
  4. Have you tried installing MDE kde? I never got any of this issue.
  5. The only reason we recommend to uninstall mandriva kde is that when upgrading kde (refering between versions, i.e. from 3.5.4 to 3.5.5), is that after upgrading kde apps apear with double entries in toolbars like for example konqueror toolbars. But after upgrading to MDE kde or installing as a clean install, it runs ok, now if with you appeared any problem was to some bad install you have done, and thats why we also say to install the suite wrappers, i.e. kdelibs-suite, kdebase-suite, kdemultimedia-suite, that this wrappers will install all the packges of the selected kde module, this way will not miss any rpm needed to run kde, like for example kdebase-kdm. Also when reporting problems is neded specific information to be able to see really see what problem is. regards,
  6. I would like to understand why you say that MDE creates plenty of issues. For example MDE kde can be upgraded using the buggy tool rpmdrake/urpmi and the only issue that sometimes happens is that in the toolbars appear some double entries and thats why we recommend to uninstall mandriva kde before install MDE kde, and that is the only reason. About MDE kde being enhanced means that includes more build options and is build with pch wich creates a better kde without the mandriva kde problems being reported so far. About the problems that this user haves its related with doing an upgrade from 2006 to 2007, thats why is always recommended to do a clean install and also create a new user or simply back up the folder ~/.kde
  7. Thats why mde-kde-icons is requires in kde install. Instead renaming a mandriva icon you can simply copy the mde icons to the specified icon theme, i.e.: cp /usr/share/icons/crystalxp/16x16/apps/menuk-mde.png /usr/share/icons/noia/16x16/apps/ cp /usr/share/icons/crystalxp/22x22/apps/menuk-mde.png /usr/share/icons/noia/22x22/apps/ cp /usr/share/icons/crystalxp/32x32/apps/menuk-mde.png /usr/share/icons/noia/32x32/apps/ cp /usr/share/icons/crystalxp/48x48/apps/menuk-mde.png /usr/share/icons/noia/48x48/apps/ cp /usr/share/icons/crystalxp/64x64/apps/menuk-mde.png /usr/share/icons/noia/64x64/apps/ This is a specific kde problem, kde haves severall bugs samba related, i have already reported 3 so far about kcmsamba...
  8. We havent build openoffice in MDE. In kde-3.5.5 so far i have only build the localization for portuguese (kde-l10n-pt-3.5.5-2.mdv2007.0.mde) but we can do mor localized rpms, users just need to ask. But meanwhile you can use the one for mandriva until we do for bulgarian. greetings,
  9. You must provide details, also when you enter in www.mde.djura.org in the install instructions we recommend to first uninstall kde to then install MDE kde to avoid any problem like doubled menus in toolbars (this use to happen when installing between versions, i.e.: 3.5.4 to 3.5.5) as ror the rest i dont know what you mean since so far i havent found any problem like the one you related, i also dont know if you have mnixed cooker rpms to official, we also say that plf-free, plf-nonfre, and contrib repos are neded. How did you installed MDE? You said that you have created a new account and things are fine, so seams yout kde old settings are causing problems, so backup your .kde folder and copy from there the files you need, like your mail messages, etc, and use your new account. We also have an irc channel #MDE in server irc.freenode.net in wich you use to hang to give support. All the other users that so far installed MDE didnt had any kind of problems.
  10. I think its time that we can put more hands working on MDE since there are many rpms to build, so who wants to give a help in developing/building rpms, please enter in contact, all help is welcome :)
  11. That is due to a broken kdmrc that belongs to kdebase.kdm package, but since you use kde i recommend you to upgrade to kde-3.5.5 available at MDE website (among many other rpms) that is stable with more fixes than cooker. You can always the thread at MandrivaUsers.org > Advanced Topics > WorkBench > Mandriva Enhanced RPMs or just enter directly to www.mde.djura.org have fun :)
  12. Well, did you know that MDE is not just kde? Yes for example for 2006 we have build many fixes and updates starting in xorg, qt3, hal, dbus, avahi, freetype, glib2, icecream, iptables, drakx tools, amarok, kvirc, esvn, etc, etc, and now for 2007 we have done qt3, desktop rpms, gimp, esvn, amsn, kvirc, ndiwrapper, webmin (that suports squid >= 2.5), squid, balgrind, unsermake, smb4k, , flashplayer-9, etc, so as you see there are plenty from where to upgrade :) have fun :)
  13. All this problems like the Home button in kmenu are resolved with MDE rpms (as default of course)
  14. I have build new apps in wich releases in Mandriva 2007 were giving problems, like webmin doesnt supporting squid-2.6 and squid eating all cpu, so i have build squid-2.6.STABLE5 and webmin-1.300 and so far its running smoothly. theres also many other new releases like amsn-0.97, smb4k-0.74, ndiswrapper-1.28, FlashPlayer-9.0.21.55, gimp-2.3.12 and of course new kde rpms :) All this available at MDE -> www.mde.djura.org have fun :)
  15. I would like to get some feedback about the kde-3.5.5 rpms, what is the users first impression, comments, ideas, etc.
  16. We dont use to build rpms for mandriva 2006 anymore anyway ill tell thac about it and maybe he can do some, anyway we use to hang in irc in server irc.freenode.net in channel #MDE, better enter there and report it personally to thac. If you had read our page at www.mde.djura.org you could have seen in where we use to hang and all support places.
  17. libkdepim2-index is a new package done by mandriva but that in my prespective doesnt make much sense the existance of that package since the files inside used to exist in libkdepim like exist in libkdepim from MDE, so ill do a new kdepim fixing this problem, maybe tomorrow is released publicly.
  18. I have just put public new rpms: FlashPlayer-9.0.21.55-1.mdv2007.0.mde kvirc-3.2.5-4mdv2007.0.mde gimp-2.3.12-1.mdv2007.0.mde amsn-0.97-0.svn20061030.1.mdv2007.0.mde have fun :)
  19. Still dont understand why are you telling me this, since we use to build more updated and with more fixes comparing with mandriva (kiosk orcooker). For example im building now a new kde-3.5.5 release that is already public at MDE website -> www.mde.djura.org
  20. As many people knows im a MDE developer and im here to ensure that the MDE kde packages are very stable, but for mandriva 2006 i have stoped doing any rpms, so the last kde for 2006 was kde-3.5.4. Now for Mandriva 2007 i have already released kde-3.5.5 and other stuff that is also stable. Now regarding sos, for that i prefer not to say much, since those are just only cooker rpms build for mandriva 2006 without any fixes, improvementes and updates, but just ask about it and you will hear how "good" they are.
  21. kde-3.5.5 and other related software as qt3, kvirc, etc. Also you can find multimedia and network software. This is available at the usual place http://www.mde.djura.org You can directly access the rpms through: for 32 bits -> http://www.mde.djura.org/2007.0/RPMS/ for 64 bits -> http://www.mde.djura.org/2007.0_64/RPMS/ Please don't forget to first read instructions before doing anything.
  22. In fact exists a problem regarding print that is due to cups but since mandriva 2007 is out there i will start doing packages for it.
  23. I thought in fixing it but since Mandriva 2007 will be out next week i think will be loosing time with this.
  24. In beggining we will follow the same line, build MDE rpms for mandriva 2007 like kde, mplayer, amarok, xorg, qt3,kvurc,etc...
  25. New mounting packages uploaded for x86, this will resolve any issues regarding mounting usb devices, you have also the ivman option in MDE. have fun,
