  1. Simply change index.php to stefs.avi, d/l it and watch it. :)
  2. To try to make it easy to understand, you're not root (or have root privileges) until you have a # instead of a $ at the console.
  3. Welcome to the MUB! Can you give us a bit more info about your system hardware? Is it new or older hardware, what motherboard, etc?
  4. The rpm that skyhawk used is available using urpmi. I totally missed it because it was not labeled as a compat. I suppose that Mandriva doesn't use that 'compat' reference anymore? It doesn't matter now anyway... I believe that everyone in this thread has a working crossword puzzle game. :)
  5. You may find something here forum.mandriva.com? At the very least, you will find others with the same problem.
  6. You won't find a newer version, unless you compile it. I'm not sure what you want to do, but maybe take a look at jakarta.apache.org?
  7. That rpm was built over 7 yrs ago. I would suggest trying to compile a newer mod_jserv.so. The source code is on the same server, and there is also a src.rpm.
  8. Use your software package manager to install the 2.6.20 in /release, as adamw has already said. You will still have your older kernel... if there's any problem, to choose from in the boot menu. Not too scary. :)
  9. You should install Windows first, then read these instructions: dual-boot howtoforge.com More info here: wiki.mandriva.com
  10. The downside of KDE is that you can't play 'gegls from outer space' :P
  11. If you have no errors in the test time, just hit Esc to reboot.
  12. I'm sorry, I thought that the system would tell you to restart the X-server. :) You did everything ok! :D
  13. The one that matches the output of uname -a
  14. No, not in the context of that question. You could however, delete that partition, create a new reiserfs partition in the unused disk space. Then reformat it as reiserfs.

    wxSand

The wxSand is a C/C++ remake of the original I think, if you try it you will like it! Don't forget to check out the mods. :) piettes.com
  16. OK, I believe that you will find it easier to install your driver from the repos. If you haven't already done so, please read and set up urpmi using the instructions to set up easyurpmi in this thread: Software installation Follow the instructions listed there and set up easyurpmi, making sure you have the PLF-free and PLF-nonfree repos. Then in a terminal as root do: urpmi dkms-nvidia this will install the driver, with any of the depends it needs.
  17. Debian Etch upgraded from backports, using Linux Kernel 2.6.21-2-k7
  18. I don't believe you're going to find firefox2.x.x.x in the 2006 repos?
  19. I believe this is where your problem started? You should never reboot a system while changing partitions and formatting. I see no way around reformatting your HDD now. I would suggest using either gparted-live-cd, or theSystemRescueCd. Then try to reinstall your system. If you still have any problems, then download the diagnostic tools for your HD and test it, as tyme has already suggested.
  20. You could just do urpmi memtest86+ reboot, and select it from the boot menu.
  21. I don't understand what you are trying to say? Just do as root urpmi vavoom and give it a try. If you are happy with it, but want the latest version, it could be cleanly uninstalled. Then you could compile the latest version from source code. You asked for an opinion as to the best engine to play the WAD files you have, so I gave you my opinion. I have compiled and tested/played both engines that I have mentioned in my previous post.
  22. I don't believe you can use firestarter with squid transparent proxy, because it needs advanced iptables rules. Here's a how-to I found with a quick search: cyberciti.biz Please note that I've never used it, so I can't answer any questions about that how-to.
  23. OK, disregard that last statement. Your mixing of Linux and windows screenshots and pics, gave me temporary brain failure! You may be having a problem with that 'space' in your SSID? Linux doesn't like spaces. If you are still having problems, please post the output as root of ifconfig -a
  24. You can find vavomm and vavoom-vmdl in the repos, then install it with your package manager or urpmi. My personnel opinion on this; I think that the Doomsday engine is far ahead of the Vavoom engine, in both graphics and stability. There is also 'snowberry' to start it without any command line hassles. Also check out the new jdoom-resource-paks. I have compiled and use deng-1.9.0-beta3, but I see that deng-1.9.0-beta5 is now available. doomsdayhq.com I'm not sure that your Nvidia TNT2 Pro is going to handle the extra sprites and textures that 'can be used' with either of this engines?
