JaseP; I have to admit, I am very curious as well. Same with SS:SE. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens next. I am sure Icculus will have something on his site, in reference to MOHAA.

America's Army wins it !! * LinuxWorld, Day Three. (posted 2003-01-24 10:47:12 by icculus): Almost everyone is hungover, no one has slept, and we're just trying to get through the day. Surprise Number Three had a last minute show-stopper, so we're not showing it on the showfloor today, but I'll give you a teaser for now: Have a looksie. http://icculus.org/~icculus/tmp/2003_01_19...170839_shot.jpg --icculus.

UT2k3 Hangs when trying to get an internet connection
Relic2K replied to discipledoc's topic in Games
You may wanna do a seach on the UT2003 Forums using the link below. I have found quite a few of the answers to my problems at this site. Even Linux releated. Cheers. http://www.ina-community.com/forums/forumd...php?forumid=249 -
I finally got some bandaides on my eyes, so I am giving an AVI File another try, I am also using the setting in the KAVI2SVCD screen shots from the website to set it up with. Should know by morning again LOL

Thanks for the links thac, I have been reading for 12 hours now and my eyeballs are bleeding. I have also come to the realization, that I now have to get MPlayer installed as a viewer for DVDRIP and KAVI2SVCD. I will work on that one after work. Thanks all.

 Sorry but I have done this alot in Winedows but never in Linux, anyone know where a How To can be found online ? Not much in the Help, and nothing at the website either. Thanks again.

I still had to install some packages manually, but the installation is finally finished, I am now going to fire the program up. Thanks all.

I didn't have the actual package downloaded, I had to download it first before running the urpmi command. It is actually working as I type this. I think I will be using this method of installing more often :) Thanks Guys for the help and patience.

urpmi kavi2svcd-0.5.4-1mdk.i586.rpm unable to access rpm file [kavi2svcd-0.5.4-1mdk.i586.rpm] error registering local packages Does that mean the package is not there ?

Okay followed the instructions, now what will this do for me ? urpmi.addmedia plf ftp://plf.chem.yorku.ca/pub/plf/cooker with hdlist.cz

What I have installed so far are; cdrdao-1.1.7 libmjpegtools0-1.6.1-1mdk libmjpegtools0-devel-1.61-1mdk If I try anything else I have discrepancies as posted in above message. Could it be the versions of the packages that I am using ? Or am I just missing packages ?
-
I downloaded the files from your site and this is still happening. It is hard for me to download anything when I don't know what the packages even are :)

I am running into this one a lot ?? libaviplay-0.7.so.0 is needed by mjpegtools-1.6.1-1mdk Anyone know what that package is ? I can't seem to find it on any CD, RPMFIND...and it is really anoying me. Here are some more I am having problems with. avifile >= 0.6 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf libdvdread.so.2 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf libmp3lame.so.0 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf liba52.so.0 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf libaviplay-0.7.so.0 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf libfame-0.9.so.0 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf liblzo.so.1 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf libpostproc.so.0 is needed by transcode-0.6.2-3plf hehehehehehe I do complete installs too, every single package is installed and I am still missing packages :) ??
-
As I attempt to install one package, I am finding out that I have to install various others, or I a missing other required ones. Does anyone have a list of exactly what packages are required for Mandrake, other than the MPlex, and the ones required for KAvi2SVCD ? I am starting to run into conflicts where one package is required but will not install because another is missing.
-
I will give these programs a try, do you know if these tools will allow me to create images that can be put on CD ? I will see if I can round up all the packages and code in the mean time. Edited: Nevermind responding, I found my answer on the Website, but again thanks for the info.

Anyone know of any scripts or programs that do this in Linux ? Thanks dudes :)

WineX 3.0 is being released shortly with support for 1942, will let everyone know if it works or not. I do have Opposing Force and CS running using WineX and it runs great.

I was wondering why I had not or was not hearing anything about this release having a Linux Client like the others and UT2003. So I posted on the Unreal 2 forums asking if there was going to be a linux client. One guys has so far replied stating that there was not going to be a linux client for this one. I am still waiting for more, but it looks like we may have to do some serious questioning and pestering to get this one running a linux client, unlike UT2003. Check out the Community section at http://www.unreal2.com/

I posted the question to there Forums last night, I am just checking again now. I will send them and email to.
-
Has anyone heard of any Linux Support for this Game ? Looks pretty promising. http://www.unreal2.com
-
Yeah DOlson; That was my initial fear, which soon became a reality upon trying to install it on my wifes puter. I even tried using WineX, but that didn't go very far, even specifying the winversion to use. God I hate widows now.

I would check the UnrealTournament.ini in /home/user/.loki/System, usually it is set to the default video driver settings and you have to change it to match your video driver/card settings. They are probably trying to use the default settings. What JohnnyV said also applies, it could be either problem. I have run into this as well, if the installation crapped out on me and files were missing.

Sorry Guys, no excuse on this one. If you saw half the stuff I do in a day, it would change your minds very quickly. I would recommend running a sniffer in the back ground the next time you type in your passwords using Telnet, then you will understand.
