  1. Do anyone have a usb mouse working with this board? So far, I got everything working...but the mouse. any help is appreciated.
  2. I tried to install mandrake 9.0 on my nForce2 A7N8X-Deluxe board over the weekend with no success. I read all the tips that I could on the matter, and I still could not get it up and running. Here's the specs: A7N8X Deluxe motherboard AMD AthlonXP 2600 (333) 768 MB DDR400 Memory VisionTek Ti4600 Vid Card Natural Keyboard Pro Intellimouse Explorer (all else is onboard) The installation went without a hitch, but when I tried the nVidia latest drivers (NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.mdk90up_2.4.19_16.athlon.rpm or even NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.src.rpm) my usb mouse stopped working. I could not use my onboard ethernet cards(neither one), and the NVdriver would not load. As I said before, I read the tips and trick that was posted as a sticky for red hat, but it did not help me. I would really like to get this working, that way I can do away with my via board forever. Do anyone have this combination working in unity? If you do, could you help me out by writing a detailed howto? Thanks for taking out the time to help out a linux nut.
  3. When ever I try to play UT2k3 on an internet server, My screen goes completely black, and I can't see anything. However, when I play a LAN game, or a single player game, I have no problems. I've made sure that I got the right patches and everything. Do anyone else have this problem? Here's my Specs: Asus A7V8X AthlonXP 2600+ (333) Visiontek Ti4600 Soundblaster Live! 768 MB PC 2700 DDR333 1x80GB and 1x100GB ATA100 Western Digital Hard drives Mandrake 9.0
  4. Thanks...I think it does. I've been used to doing rpm --rebuild whatever.src.rpm when I should be doing it rpmbuild --rebuild --target=athlon package.src.rpm Thanks for your prompt assist.
  5. Here's the deal: I installed Mandrake 9.0 last night. I recompiled the kernel and chose the Athlon Processor as the CPU of choice. I went through: [*]make dep [*]make clean [*]make bzImage [*]make install [*]make modules [*]make modules_install It took about 30 minutes to compile and then I changed lilo and everything went without a hitch. Here's the question: I want to be able to use optimized Athlon rpms. How do I do this? How do I build rpms (from the source package) to utilize the speed of my CPU? Here's my Specs My Machine is: Asus A7V8X AthlonXP 2600+ (333) Visiontek Ti4600 Soundblaster Live! 768 MB PC 2700 DDR333 1x80GB and 1x100GB ATA100 Western Digital Hard drives Mandrake 9.0
  6. Newbie question: How do I compile my kernel to optimize my linuxbox for my AthlonXP CPU? My specs: Asus A7V8X AthlonXP 2600+ 768 MB DDR333 RAM 1x80 GB & 1x120 GB Western Digital HD VisionTek Xtasy Ti4600 Mandrake 9.0 KDS VS 190
  7. No. That wont work. This icon defaults to the original icon...and it won't allow me to change it. Any other ideas?
  8. Do anyone know how to changet the default KDE 3.0x home icon? I change themes and icons, but that one always stay the same. Thanks for any help.
