Yesterday, I have watched the Real video feed of Miguel de Icaza's MonoDevelop presentation at Novell's Brainshare event on Mar 26: http://primates.ximian.com/~miguel/activity-log.php http://www.novell.com/brainshare/keynotes2004.html (Check out Mar 26, Friday video, for that Mono presentation) I hate to say it, but what .NET and C# will be able to provide, at least on the desktop, is very, very impressive. The presentation showed how Miguel embedded Gecko (the mozilla browser engine) in a simple GUI app in Mono under Linux, for just a few edit plus drag and drop from the MonoDevelop GUI Designer. And the Mono binary is instantly usable on Windows platform (that is, the seemless switch of widget from GTK# to Win32 GUI). I think Miguel's presentation starts somewhere around 01:00:00-01:15:00, worthy check it out.

Just drag and drop one the icon inside the K-Menu / GNOME Menu to your desktop, and modify the shortcut icon path to point to the new Mozilla location.

The latest Flash plugin version 6.0.81-1 should no longer have the libstdc++ (gcc 2.96) dependency problem. http://macromedia.mplug.org/ Also, if you install the rpm package, you can create symlink so that same plugin can be re-used for another browser. $ su # cd {your browser path}/plugins/ # ln -s /usr/lib/flash-plugin/flashplayer.xpt . # ln -s /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so . You can save some harddrive space with this trick, and when you update the flash-plugin again you should no longer need to copy the files again because they are all linked at the same source at /usr/lib/flash-plugin directory.

Dude, read the Mandrake Bugzilla entry and you knew it is a Kernel 2.6 related new issue. http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7959#c21 Many of ocilent1's suggestion are solid and you can try and see if you can resolve the issue. According to many posters at LinuxQuestions, many of them found their ways to solve the problem. I still believe the problem is fixable, unless you have an unlucky coincident harddrive failure on your own.

I suspect UT2004 will use /tmp and /usr/local/games/ to store temporary and data files respectively.

Heh, saying **** wasn't a good way to find any solution anyway. B) I guess toolkit like System Rescue CD may help to restore your Windows partition, or the MBR more appropriately.

PLF Real Codec pack + Totem does work in Mandrake 9.2, and 9.2 only. You can check out the screenshot I added in my previous post, as Totem should have launched. BUT if you have put MozPlugger or rpnp.so in the plugin folder, then it will be started instead of Totem.
