  1. I agree! If you are not the type that gives up easily you can do SO MUCH with Linux. Here's one from me too:
  2. Congratulations! Linux is much more interesting with an internet connection ;)
  3. What's a Podcast, may I ask?
  4. those are definately the username/pswd you need to use - I just double checked. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, it still does not accept it. User name: root Password: (I'm sure of this) I tried these >10 times. The password box keeps rejecting me.
  5. I tried "Add Printer" but: It doesn't accept my root password!? what the h*ll?
  6. I tried with LPD and cups, but it says: Edit: maybe this is because my Wireless card and/or Gateway is in between and it cannot connect to the PC 168.0.2.3 ? When I try to connect with telnet to this PC on port 515, it gives: Also I can ping this address, but traceroute delivers no results?
  7. Hi, Samba works fine on our home network, I can access the shared folder we setup on a Windows XP PC. I marked the printer Sharable on the WinXP machine, but I cannot add the printer via config tool (Kprinter or Yast). However, a folder called 'print$' does show up under my local networks in Konqueror... In it are some files and other folders with drivers, color profiles, ... Printer is HP deskjet 990C Any ideas?
  8. No, I was not. I'm back running SuSe now. But thanks for the link, I was interested in learning more about this sudo and sudoers thingies.
  9. See this topic: http://www.software-one.org/new-632711-4687.html quote: do this from a console. They say the package "bc" should be your Mandrake CD's.
  10. Thanks, you're a life-saver! It even has the option of exporting the data as Xhtml!! B) Now only to get rid of the extra attributes. But I think a Search&Replace will do the trick. Many thanks!
  11. Yes, I agree. Not only is it ugly and unintuitive, but it also lags behind the magazine, e.g. 1 or 2 days ago they still had 'current issue: 60' displayed on their site, while I had just bought issue 62!
  12. Ah, Linuxmagazine! I thought you were talking about Linuxformat! LinuxMagazine seems too technical for me though...
  13. 61 has Fedora Core 3 and Ubuntu. I've tried them both... still like SuSe best though. Edit: ChrisM, which issue is this?
  14. I've got a table in Access and have to publish the data on our website. I converted it to PDF, but our website also has to be accessible for visually impaired people. So I need to make Html tables as well. The access file is very simple and has 3 colums A, B and C. I would like to find a way to script it so that this structure is reached for each row: <tr> <td class="tdemright">Column A</td> <td>Column B</td> <td>Column C</td> </tr> There are 5 'worksheets' in the access file. Manually this would take an awful long time. But since there is a method in this, with scripting it should not be too difficult. Can anyone help me with this? I have uploaded the file for your reference, in OpenOffice Calc format here: http://www.ducaet.be/nieuwe_lijnnummers.sxc Many thanks! Darkelve
  15. Yeah... LinuxFormat (issue 60 I think) had a Mandrake 10.1 DVD.
