  1. Lets see: the silver skull, candles, telescope - is that a magic you practice at home?
  2. Is that a telescope I see? And a model of a ship? We share same hobbies, you know...
  3. Borrowed it from fedoraforum.org I bet they aren't better than us, we have something to show too... Post here your home or work, boring or extraordinary workstation layouts. Give some design tips and make your comments and remarks. Here is mine: click to enlarge
  4. Me, harassed? NO... I'm just thinking about killing them all. Tonight. Slowly. Muha-ha-ha-aaaaa.......
  5. Yes, you're probably right . When i say minimalism i mean only the clean desktop without too many stuff on it, not a Slackware linux with OpenBox and CLI only :P .
  6. The updated version. And yes, no icons is better. Minimalism rules!
  7. Why should you learn and configure something you do not use? I never heard of these features and thus didn't messed with them and Konqueror worked fine.
  8. Are you shure that your router is working properly? Did you try to ping it from your pc: ping -c 3 10.0.0.144 What does the command return?
  9. I'm sorry, I didn't understand so well what is the problem. As I understand: your PC: ip 10.0.0.139 mask 255.255.255.0 gateway 10.0.0.144 dns 1: 10.0.0.144 dns 2: 10.0.0.144 your router: ip 10.0.0.144 What is "our another router (10.0.0.138)" ? Are there other devices between your PC and ADSL modem/router (the 10.0.0.144 i presume is a modem/router)?
  10. The Linux killer app: KDE's Konqueror Have any comments? Comparison to Nautilus maybe? As I myself moved recently to KDE from gnome, I want to know what you guys think about.
  11. I think that my system is wrecked severely  ! Previously I said that I installed the whole development package - but now I checked that it didn't install gcc-c++! I installed it manually and got this error: "checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!" aioshin, could it be because what you've said?
  12. I don't know what is symlink, and didn't quet understand what did you suggested earlier. Please explain that again.
  13. Well, I have the whole development package group installed on my FC4, including C, C++, Java, Python and many more, co I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work. I think it might be a package installation problem, because my "Add or Remove Applications" program can't add or remove a think because it has some dependancies problem, but 'yum groupinstall' works fine. Should i reinstall FC4 windows-like?
  14. How do i install it? Where do i get it?
  15. Well, i've downloaded a JAlbum.bin file, how do i open it in linux? It seems like i don't have a java runtime environment installed.
  16. Downloading it right now... Had some Java problems...
  17. Apparently gThumb can do all I asked so I'll stick to it. Picasa is great for Windows, but it adds an unwanted frame to thumbnails. About ImageMagick - sounds like a good program but i don't want to mess with CLI and various scripts, thanks for an option anyway. Thanks everybody.
  18. Can I run apps written on GTK or for gnome in KDE without problems? Will KDE apps work in Gnome so i coud not feel any difference?
  19. Here is my config.log: This file contains any messages produced by compilers while running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake. 20. Are both DE compatible with each other 100% ? I've noticed that KDE runs fuster on my pc than gnome, but i use mostly GTK apps, so what do you say?
  21. Now everythig is OK. Thank you Gowator and ianw1974 !
  22. Thanks man ! Only today switched to KDE from Gnome, it is whole new world... Does konqueror have a 'empty trash' command (trash applet has it) ? Can't find it anywhere, hope i'm not blind...
  23. I don't have a trash icon on my desktop in kde. How can i bring it back? [moved from Everything Linux by spinynorman]
