EA don't usually contact Ryan until their games are released or just about to go on the shelf, and there's no saying whether or not he will do the client if they want him to do the dedicated server.

the linux md5sum is here if it doesn't match, you've got a corrupt download if it does match, then perhaps you don't have enough space in /tmp ? ie. is it a seperate partition?

well I do have the USA version what exactly is the problem? does it fail to extract files or does the installer keep telling you to insert disc 1?

I renamed the binary to freespace2-bin, which the old bash script isn't compatible with.

Freespace 1 wasn't ported. The Freespace 2 code was modified to load the Freespace 1 data.

Supermount only causes problems with a loki installer not being able to find the CD. UT has been installed, but something is corrupting the files.
