Pierre
Had a perfectly working system with Mdk 9.1/KDE. Now I have moved the HDD to another motherboard and things are not so perfect any more. During the first boot sequence on the new system all the hardwares are found and system starts. Sound works OK after reconfiguring but no modem (LT Winmodem) or network. I then reconfigure network card and modem manually and everything works again and reboot. After restart again no modem and no network. Manually reconfiguration make it work again. Why are the new settings not saved? How can I make it "stick" ? Any comment appreciated Pierre
phunni
Note: Moved from Software It would be helpful to have a little more detail - What modem do you have and what is your network card? Edited May 4, 2004 by phunni
chris z
you don't have an onboard etho card or modem on the new mobo, in addition to the Winmodem & network card, by any chance do you? if so, the duplicate card/modem could be causing conflicts. if this is the case, disable the modem/etho card that you're not using in the bios, then see if the settings stick. if this isn't the case, then i'm sure somebody will come up with the proper solution.
