I swaped my Iomega ZIP100 internal reader to my new PC AMD Athlon 2200 XP.

As I couldn't see any icon on the Desktop I have reinstalled the / system partition

Now I have the Zip icon but when I insert a disk and try to open it I got a window "file: /mnt/zip" with the message "impossible to enter /mnt/zip"

when I try via the console I got :

[root@localhost mnt]# cd zip

bash: cd: zip: Input/output error

[root@localhost mnt]#

In dev/fstab I got the following line :

none /mnt/zip supermount dev=/dev/sda4,fs=auto,--,iocharset=iso8859-15,sync,codepage=850,umask=0 0 0

How can I fix this and use my Zip 100 ?

This Iomega reader is performing fine with WIN98SE on this new PC

I played around with this and my Jazz drive, with no results either, Iomega has a linux driver at:

http://www.iomega.com/software/

but even with that, which requires a recompile, I didn't get anywhere.

The other thing I noticed, is in the control center under hardware, there is an "Options" button, this pops up a menu that says something like "Auto detect Jazz, Zip drives".

Again, I played with this, with no sucess. I gave up rather quickly, perhaps with a bit more persistance I or you may get it.

I'd love to hear what you did if you get it to work!
