ShadowFoxLSU
Well yesterday i was playing around with my system, and suddenly, gedit doesnt work, so I reboot. Now the application menu crashes out when you open it. I think Gnome is dying a slow death. Is there any way to fix this?
iphitus
what were you doing before it started stuffing? THis isn't windows. Things don't just stop working unless you remove or damage something totally integral. James
bvc
see what errors you get if you run gedit from a terminal; gedit Also, do; Ctrl>Alt>F1 and see what errors are printed out, if any, when running gedit and the App menu. Also look at .xsession-errors in your $HOME DIR.

ShadowFoxLSU
Aright, now that I am at home, I tested my system. There is nothing wrong with Gnome itself (I created a new user and it worked fine). Aparently, one of my scripts is bad.... how should I fix this? bvc
move (bkup) the .gnome* folders in your home and login....new ones will be created and you'll be back to the default desktop.
