aperahama
Can anybody please advise me. I recently went to a site and typed in my username and then went to put in my password. Not being a very good typist I was looking at the keyboard and not the screen and I inadverantly typed in my passwork directly behind my user name. Now, whenever I type in my username a list of usernames drop down including the one with my password at the end of it. How can I get rid of the entries in the dropdown list??? liquidzoo
What browser are you using? I know there is a way to clear that list somewhere. There is in IE for Windows, so I would imagine that it would be the same for other browsers. Have you checked the settings/preferences screens to see if there's any info there? mdg
In Mozilla Firebird go to Tools-Options-Privacy-Saved Passwords. Click on the "+" and select "View Saved Passwords". You can delete whatever you need to there. I don't know about Mozilla, but it shouldn't be too different
mdg
Just checked Mozilla: Edit-Preferences-Privacy+Security-Passwords. You can edit your passwords here as you like. I only use these two browsers, so I can't help you with anything else
aperahama
I'm sorry I should have said, the browser concerned is Konqueror. I have tried deleting cookies and browser cache but this does not do anything for me.
liquidzoo
I will check for you when I get home from work tonight, unless someone else out there can get there faster than I can. There has to be a way to delete those.
liquidzoo
Found it, but it clears all of the cached passwords. Open a terminal and type kdesu -s to do it. aperahama
Thank you Liquidzoo, I just tried your suggestion and got he following error message kdesu: ERROR: Daemon not running -- nothing to stop The names on the drop down list have not changed. :(
liquidzoo
Ok, try right clicking on the textbox in question and see if you get a menu. If you get a menu there with an option that says 'clear contents' select that. That should work for you. That's the only other thing that I have found that might help. I use MozillaFirebird myself, so I'm sorry if I can't be any more help
aperahama
Absolutely brilliant Liqudzoo :D there is indeed an option to clear the history using the right click button. Thank-you (I feel like such a dickhead for not looking for that in the first place ) anyway your help is very much appreciated.
