Guest jcn Posted January 9, 2009 Report Share Posted January 9, 2009 New to Mandriva ... I installed 2009 and all works fine....BUT I messed up and Removed Firefox Web browser .... How do I get it back from the installation CD .... Or can Mandriva somehow be reinstalled ? .... When I boot from the CD to try a reinstall it just loads the system from the CD and everything work fine including Firefox, but it's all off the CD ... I then reboot from my harddrive and Firefox is gone again. I did play around with Software Management it install/or reinstall...And the Firefox or any Webbrowser does not show up as available to install ? pindakoe Posted January 9, 2009 Report Share Posted January 9, 2009 Repositories are servers around the internet which distribute software for mandriva (called packages or RPM's for short). The control center software program displays all software that is in the repositories you have enabled (which can mean zero). Suggest you follow the Easy URPMI link on this site's home page (link) and go with the defaults. Accept the files that are downloaded to your PC (you will need to enter your root (Administrator/system manager) password to get these repositories added.
