BertoldK
I have an HP Officejet 6110; installation with printerdrake worked, printing is OK. Even is printerdrake stated that my Officejet can be used to scan, I can not get it to work. (I have mandrake 9.1 installed). Does anybody has made similar experience, or can anybody give me useful hints? (Browsing through web pages, trying with various (x)scanimage commands etc. did not help. Only positive result: sane-find-scanner brings found USB scanner (vendor..., product...) at libusb:001:
scoopy
Maybe we should start with asking how you are trying to scan anything. Are you starting xsane or kooka, from the Kmenu... under Multimedia/ Graphics ? Or maybe you are trying to aquire an image from the gimp ? My guess is you may be used to using the buttons on the sanner, which probably will not work. Th scanner driver issue in Linux is still in its infancy with HP leading the way, I believe. chris:b
Bertold, do you know this site: http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/ Your All-In-One HP ... is supported. Scanning works, they say. They provide special linux drivers. Maybe worth trying if xsane refuse to scan.
