sjaglin
I get a crash on kompozer with Mandriva 2009. Same on my 2 machines, any ideas? sjaglin
Ah well! Still crashes, I leave it and stick to Joomla, much better anyway!

adamw
I'm the kompozer maintainer. I know about the crash, but unfortunately I haven't a clue what the hell the problem is or how to fix it, as I'm not a hacker. Patch is welcome... The odd thing is is started happening after I just did a straight rebuild of the package for 2009.0. It's the exact same code and build as used on 2008.1, but somehow, rebuilding in the 2009 environment made it break. Odd. If you grab the 2008.1 package from a 2008.1 repo (this kind of thing is of course usually expressly discouraged), it will likely work. adamw
I've been looking into this a bit; it is indeed to do with fortification. If built with -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=0 it works, but with 1 or 2 it fails. I'm reluctant to upload it 'fixed' this way, however, because it indicates a fairly major bug in the code which should really be fixed first. I have contacted the upstream developer to try and get him to fix it.

sjaglin
Scarecrow : No I'm afraid it doesn't work a a root mindwave: Well Joomla is really easy, I'm total novice in website building and it seems very easy. So far my site is "offline" and I will have my security enhanced before publishing it from my server. The community is very big and active. There is a very simple composer included and some very nice templates. It runs on my QNAP 109 station. Stef
Chris H
The rpm and the standalone tarball both work for me until I make changes to cascades, then it bombs out.
adamw
I uploaded a fixed package to 2009.0 /main/testing yesterday. Any further crashes are likely bugs in upstream Kompozer, not something wrong with our build. Apparently the upstream guy is working on an update based on the latest Gecko, he is about half done.
