how to play Blue ray rips

Yo people, greetings to all, Im looking for play correctly video files riped from blueray [(BD H264 1920x1080 24fps)] I have used mplayer

and so on... my vid doesnt look good its like slowly paused as well the sound, I have played avi file at high res [at least 1600:1024] and went well.

Any sugestions.?

hd rips are quite demanding, hardware-wise, especially the 1080p ones. You shouldn't expect much with old hardware. Anyway:

The best FREE solution for watching hd x264 rips is the new VLC 0.9.X, preferrably with a fairly recent x264 package (from git or wherever).

The best overall solution (but commercial) is injecting the windows codec CoreAVC to mplayer.

You can compare to the vlc playback, and judge if it's worth the $15 the licence costs.
