jeanrev
I had my MDK9.1 running OK and suddenly PPPd blocks after the connection established with an alarm 16 The question is : how do you fix pppd without installing the OS completely ? bvc
Welcome! Could you give a little more detail? It's not likely that pppd is broken, just a bad config somewhere. I'm at work on win95, so what is alarm 16? Do you mean the error codes from man pppd?

spinynorman
If you wanted to confuse everybody by registering under two names, it worked for me! :) Seriously, was there an error message as well as the error 16? I'm at work on Windows at the moment, so I can't check it out. I expect somebody will give you an answer before I get home.
bvc
Launch kppp from a terminal; kppp <hit Enter> and post the output here. Name? I wasn't confused, but I did wonder why? You could have contacted an admin to have your name changed :)
