MadHattr
Hey i have a asus motherboard with a pentium 3 500 MHz i installed a card with 512 mbs of ram into one of my motherboards dimm slots when i restarted the bios showed that i only had 254 mb's of ram installed when i added in another 128 mb stick and a 64 mb stick and restarted it only said i had like 320 i am woundering if there is a problem with the motherboard and if it is not displaying the correct amount of ram or if my motherboard has a max amount of ram per dimm slot and if so is there a way around it? qeldroma
There are some MoBos that can't handle big RAMs. Another possibility is, that the speeds differ. Don't mix 100MHz with 133MHz, or old 66MHz. I had a board that only accepted 100MHz, even not 66MHz. I was angry, because i bought a 133MHz 256MB chip and he only found 128MB. The reason was the speed.
Counterspy
One of the recommendations I remember seeing in a variety of places is not only to make the speed the same but not not mix chips of different memory capacities. In other words don't mix 128 with 64. For some it may work, for others it may not. Counterspy
