It's too dark for my old eyes. I could read it, but it would not be enjoyable. I think it would give me a headache from eye strain. Sorry, but that's the truth. :)

Yes it is much too stark.

The white font is too thin against the opaque black. But even if it was bold it would still be very tiring on the eyes

I would put it another way.... it is too geekish and lacks the warmth of "stay and read me".

Cheers. John

Thanks John,

I'll probably change it back to the blue template that I was using a while back before I switched to this one. As the only other template I've got is also dark but not sure if it's hard to read either :)

Aye, I shouldn't have been too hasty changing the theme :P

So, now it looks perfectly fine ;)

Thanks a bunch for checking it out and letting me know. At least I know now it was a little on the dark side. I did temporarily check the other dark theme I had and it had light blue text, but even with that if I was objective it wasn't too easy on the eye also. However, it looked fantastic otherwise.

Thanks Steve. Hopefully it's all OK now, else I'll have to search for another template and ones I like aren't easy to come by. :)

tell the person who sent the email to adjust their monitor brightness/contrast.

it may also just be a problem with their monitor. the blue may appear darker on their screen than you would expect. this is something you have to be careful of in web design, and why light colours are more common as backgrounds for text.
