Guest smoketoomuch
What's the easiest route to go to install textars kde 3.1.2 rpm's..Still new to mdk and still learning everything..I just wanna make sure everything goes smooth without any nasty dependancy issues.. for me, urpmi --auto-select worked fine. You need to have his repository added to your urpmi sources. Open a console, and as root type: urpmi.addmedia texstar ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribut...ndrake/9.1/rpms with hdlist.cz Than you just type in (still as root): "urpmi --auto-select" - and that should do it (it did for me at least). If you are new to MDK, see this excellent urpmi mini howto: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/jwrobinson/docs...cs/urpmi-howto/ Also: http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/urpmiweb.php :)
Gowator
Well, thx texstar. Worked for me, I only got my DSL switched on by the phone company this morning and Ive already done a few GB of downloads. 300MB of damned updates first .. I just added to my sources. The plf (thanks guys) :tux:easy urmpi worked great for me. http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon Then just used the fixed RPMDRAKE I finally got ... Anyway, between texstar and the plf guys I now have a 'working' 9.1.....

gabbman
the cdrom and cloppy icons no longer show up Odd, how in window's ya never had them and didn't need them. Mandrake's supermount makes it just as easy, yet still we need to SEE them on the desktop. Must be me, I don't get it. :?: I also don't have any devices on the desktop. gabbman
Hehe, point taken. If you really need them, Control Center --> Look and Feel --> Behavior, Check the "Display devices on desktop" box. :)
shen
nah that method doesn't work for the cdrom and floppy icons..:) Someone posted a link earlier to texstars forums. It apears to be something in texstars rpm's that break that. Not a major ordeal I just made myself a simple script for that in my home dir..:) Didn't really want them on the desktop jsut an easy way so my wife can get to them..:)
