Hello everyone

I just installed mandriva on my Toshiba satellite A210. When I try to change screen resolution in configure desktop option i just get 1024x768. When I go to control center and list my hardware it says Identification

Welcome to the board!

What resolution do you want? What version of Mandriva are you using? Please open a terminal and post the output of

cat /etc/release

What video driver are you now using? Please post the output of

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf |grep -i driver

The easiest (and preferred) method to install the proper driver, or any software, is to set up your software sources (repositories) with Easy-Urpmi. I suggest that you start with reading this post on Software installation.

Then set up easyurpmi as per the instructions in that thread, so you can install the packages you need. Here's a link to Easy-Urpmi: mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi

After you have set up your repositories, then you can use your package manager or urpmi to install the proper driver. Then in a terminal run

XFdrake

to set up your video card with the proper driver.
