It should be in /etc

Well, it should be. Also do this (as root):

updatedb

Then this:

locate php.ini | more

If you can't find it this way, you need to install php.

As far as 9.1 is concerned, /etc/php.ini is not there if you don't put it there themselves. I think mandrakesoft changes the configuration of the web server or something, so that there is a default configuration of apache and php if you don't have /etc/php.ini. Anyway, just make one and put it in the directory. If you don't have one, you can find some samples at /usr/share/doc/libphp_common430-430/php.ini-dist or

/usr/share/doc/libphp_common430-430/php.ini-recommended

@jentje:I WROTE that i installed php!!

Only thing is, that, i believe, Mandrake handles this without php.ini, because normally it should be in /etc, but there it isn't.

Or do you have it there??

My aim is to turn "safe_mode" off, but without php.ini i don't know where. Next i try to create one, hopefully it will be read by httpd...
