hi

I have mozilla 1.3 from with my mdk 9.1.

Recnetly i have been having some problems with the keys not working in the browser. ie all the forms i cannot fill in , and cannot type in the sddress bar. very wierd. I can open the <File menu, open web location>, and type over there. I can also use the mouse to get an url from the drop down list.

This doent go away until i restart mozilla.

Has anybody have the same problem or heard of his? Any solution?

Regards

Kunal

I have had this same problem, with multiple versions of Mozilla from back before 1.0 on up to 1.3, and on multiple platforms (Win, Linux, even Macs). I assume it's got something to do with the XUL cross-platform interface, since the problem is so consistent on every platform.

I can usually cure it by minimizing Mozilla a few times and/or switching between Mozilla and some other application that accepts keyboard input. That seems to refocus the input from the keyboard. This doesn't always work, and sometimes I have to restart Mozilla, and sometimes even restarting Mozilla doesn't fix it, and I have to restart 2 or 3 times.

The big thing just seems to be getting the keyboard input to focus somewhere else, then switching back to Mozilla, but I wish there where a better fix for this problem. It's almost a show-stopper and makes Open Source look like crap every time it happens. It's such a high-visibility bug that I keep being surprised it hasn't been fixed yet with every new version.

Always been a prob for me in galeon and what fixes it in galeon all the time doesn't always work in moz, but I either rt-click in the field I need to type then clck-off the menu on the browser window, or, since I use tabs, click on another and, then back on the one I need to tye in. It's very annoying and one of the main reason I try very hard not to use or even install moz.

Had the same problem on two different PCs with MDK 9.1.

I downloaded the 1.3 from mozilla.org and everything works fine. I recently switched to Firebird/Phoenix and works great. There are MDK 9.1 rpms from Texstar.
