qeldroma
I am not sure about it. I read the script, but am not sure i understood it in it's importance. Can somebody tell me in clear simple words what it does REALLY?
Steve Scrimpshire
Well, it depends. If you are not running a mailserver, I don't think you need it, because that is what it is for. I'm no mail guru, but there are other ways to secure the transfer of mail (none of which are all that great, if I understand correctly). theYinYeti
I'm not so sure. I'm currently in big trouble with LDAP and IMAP (read my latest posts), and it seems to be SASL-related. Yves.

DragonMage
Let me hijack this thread a bit (don't worry, it's still about SASLAUTHD). If I only use my computer for ssh server (just to connect from anywhere to my computer in order to check some stuffs), do I still need it? theYinYeti
I don't think so. ssh pretty well runs OK on its own.
