Question on mail server

After all that work my isp block port 25 they said I have to upgrade to a commercial account. That suks. Ohh well I guess I have to upgrade now.

yeah, this is an unfortunate problem w/resident connections. When I get my own place some ISP representative is going to get an earful about this.

Why'd they block port 25..?

 

lot's of ISP's think that only "servers" would be using port 25, as it's a mail port. and servers, according to them, shouldn't have regular residential accounts, due to the possible high level of traffic one could expect.

 

therefore, you have to pay them more, meaning, get a commercial account.
