    Courier query

Well... Courier is a "delivery agent" as such. It handle IMAP and POP connections. I have gone through man files and searched the web and not for the life of me can I find anything, or any configuration options... Who are the "courier" GURU's here ?????

    Courier query

Right, so I'm setting up a new mail server running virtual mailboxes. The mailboxes have have permissions 700 for a specific user. I need courier to run as that user in order to access the Maildirs. How the hell do I get courier to run as a different user rather than root user ???
  3. well johnKFT. Since this is the same problem, where is the answer. I couldn't find one. And secondly what is the problem...? How is the modem hanging up the same as an error in the options giving. If the problem is the same thing you are going to have to explain this in a lot more detail...!!
  4. Actually the differences are quite vast... look at the error code... I also don't have ".rpmsave" files... I use Gentoo maybe you should pay attention to what I'm saying before you tell me that someone else had the same problem...!! I was just really asking whether or not someone else had come accross my problem and whether they knew how to fix it...!! Anyway, lets not start a flame war.... Does someone know what the problem in my case is...?
  5. How is that going to help me unless I'm blind... Totally different problem...!! What I am going to do is fiddle with ppp scripts and just ignore wvdial all together...!!
  6. Hashed out the anologue modem bit and the same thing happened...!

    Stupid MBR question

Well in the end #lilo -M /dev/hda Wiped my MBR so much so that I couldn't even install anything after that. There was some really weird shit going on, I'm not exactly sure what. Once I had wiped it Mandrake install froze when it got to the part where it detected the partitions. Red Hat did something funny too, can't remember what exactly. In the end I booted off my Win XP CD, got into the comand prompt and used "FIXMBR" which rewrote the MBR sothat just windows was available. Then I installed gentoo and this time round when I ran "lilo" it actually did something.... Can ones MBR get full...?
  12. How the %*@# do I erase the Master Boot Record from Linux.....? I have been reading many many mans trying to find a way to do this but I still have not found anything. # fdisk /MBR : and almost all variations of that dont seem to work... Can someone help me pleez. thanx AA edited by Ixthusdan
  13. Well as it so happens, I am busy installing gentoo right now. It's 5:47am and I have not slept yet. I am downloading source files from a 56K dial-up connection and let me tell you..... this is not fun. Any one planning on doing it the old build it yourself routine be warned.... Keep this for a weekend to start the install and make sure that you have your PS2 ready for all the time you sit around waiting for stuff to download and compile... Also buy yourself a big ass tin of coffee..... You are so gonna need it.!! I too would like to see all the source files on CD's to save with the downloading. South Africa isn't exactly known for its high amounts of bandwidth. So this is aimed more at SA users that all you other folk with broadband, although apparently its a bitch for you too...!!
  14. I am running a debian mail server. woody v3 The mail server uses exim to recieve mail and cyrus to send. The troubling part is that I get a lot of spam and can't for the life of me figure out how to blacklist specific email addresses and in some cases even hosts, so that I dont get any more mail from those addresses. The mail server is for a whole network so it's not just personal spam I want to stop. I would also like to avoid using other software to do this. Is there simply a file I can edit or an entry I can add to stop the spam. Your thought on this matter would be appreciated... ta AA
  15. Oh yes.... that link to the article is no longer valid.... I couldn't read it because its no longer valid, so if anyone knows of another link.... plz will they post it..!!!!
