Wriker
Hi gang. I'm having some trouble with Zip in 9.1. When I have a file I want to zip, I right click on it and it gives me the option to "Zip File" but when I do it does nothing. I can zip by command line but not in the aforementioned method. Is there a bug, something I'm not doing right? Also, wasn't there also choices to use ARK as a method of compressing files? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Wriker
manly
I noticed the same thing (this is in Konqueror with MDK 9.1). However, I use bz2 instead, since it seems to be better at compressing files. If you need Winzip comatibility, use .gz. I think it has close to the same compression as .zip. --Andrew
Wriker
That's what I ended up doing. I'm curious why this isn't working though.
BobGuy©
I noticed the same thing. Not knowing what app is suspose to open when its clicked, or if its suppose to be automatically compressed into what type of archive, I couldn't say. Could be as simple as a broken symlink, or no mime type set, who knows? This is just one more reason to learn how to do things at the command line. And how to file a bug report. :D
DragonMage
Hmm.. I think this bug only happens on files, since I can zip up directories using this method in konqueror just fine.
