arctic
In the MCC (Mandriva Control Center aka "configure your computer") there is a section for managing your software. One icon there, the one with the rpm box, allows you to manage the repositories from where you download/install packages. After a default installation, the media you used for installation (CD/DVD) is activated in there (for those without internet access). Deactivate the checkbox for your CD/DVD media there. After that make sure that you have internet mirrors set up for managing your software installs (->easyurpmi) if you haven't done so already. arctic
The ones listed in easyurpmi have roughly 16.000 packages available. Ain't that enough?

orts
hhh :) it's kinda enough but what's wrong with more.........i still don't know how to install from sources.(noobie) thanks again for ur help Why install from sources, when everything you need is in the repos you get from Easy-Urpmi? But you are able to find something here: http://seerofsouls.com/ In some case newer packages, and a few packages thats not in Easy-Urpmi repos. www.mde.djura.org In most cases, same as above And you can find packages here http://rpmfind.net/ and here http://rpm.pbone.net/ I have learned the hard way, just use the official repos and PLF and nothing els. If you can't wait for a newer package to arrive in your repositories, then it's best to compile the package your self and if you don't now how, then just ask in here, you can't find a more friendly board on the internet. orts
thank u are those repos you posted official or not thank you again You can only find official repos on http://www.mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi/index.php it's the complete same as http://easyurpmi.zarb.org. At SeerOfsouls.org and www.mde.djura.org are not official, but you can ad them to RpmDrake the same way as from Easy-Urpmi. From the two other sites you'll have to download tha packages and install them with either the software installer og by using Konsole (commandline) But as I said before, it's enough to ad Easy-Urpmi, because as Arctic says, you have 16.000 packages to choose between. Not all of them are the newest but they work ;)
