sjaglin
Hi I ve been trying Enlightenment DR17 (E17) as a window manager and I must say it's great. A few questions though: 1- Is anyone usig it on a regular basis? 2- Does anyone know how to make entrance my default start DM? 3- are there any distros better with it than others? 4-Is it a beta vesion still? Thanks! Stef
sjaglin
FOUND!!! Ok I found elive a live cd which runs debian and E16 and E17, I think I m gonna work a bit on that, possibly an alternative with my mandriva... Try it, very eye candy! neddie
It's perhaps a little outdated now, but I did write a page a while ago about the Elive cd for those interested. Or the home page is http://elivecd.org. Very interesting live CD, but I never did manage to get E17 working with Mandriva. I haven't tried lately though. dexter11
There is an e17 snapshot in the contrib repo. But it's very early from march 2006. It's called simply e. Otherwise you have to look up the fan repos for a current e17 IMHO. Hawkwind used to do that but he's not doing it anymore.
sjaglin
I ve installed the whole bunch of RPMs in the enlightement directory from drakconf, E16 and E17. It works ok but I m not skilled enough yet to find out how to tweak with it, very interresting GUIs though. I even prefer it to my 3d desktop!
