phunni
I am trying to reconnect my network after installing 9.1 and setting up samba again. so far, so good, but how do I set the password for a remote user? I tried using smbpasswd <new password> but I was asked for the old password - which I don't know! Is there any way of figuring this out? johnnyv
Do you have webmin installed? If so open it up in a browser. https://localhost:10000/ or the ip of the box if you are accessing it from another box Server tag -> samba -> edit samba users and passwords See if the user name you want is listed there, if so click it and you can change the password here.
