Guest pwfd2135
I used xfdrake when I was at that screen because I am having the same problem, But i get what i think is a error message, it says Fatal: Module nvidia not found (EE) NVIDIA (0) failed to load the nvidia kernel module (EE) nvidia(0) ***ABORTING*** (EE) screen found but none have a usable configuration Fatal screen error no screen found.. But i Can see this error, and i have the correct driver for the video card. Thanks
ianw1974
That error seems to tell me you don't have the nvidia module loaded in your kernel, either by using the dkms-nvidia packages, or with the installed driver direct from nvidia. I would use lsmod, to see if nvidia is actually loaded, and if it's not, then your graphics card is not using the nvidia driver. It will probably be falling back to a default, like nv or vesa. Guest pwfd2135
ok, i am kinda a noob, well I am a no0b. How do i use lsmod, because i type it into the command prompt where i am in and nothing happens, just get a erroe than back to localhost. Also is there a way that i can use another driver somewhere, or do i have to do a re-install to set that driver up. But i am using a nivida geforce 2 graphics card. im just not sure why its not accepting it thanks
Ixthusdan
You should su to root and then type the command. Type "su" and then enter the root password.
