Hi :wall:

I installed a 32bit version of Mandriva 2007 (DVD), and nVidia drivers, enabled 3D desktop (XGL), and now i have just a big white cube with a Mandriva logo on top of it, no desktop :D

Can i resore to previous state without reinstalling the OS?

BTW. first time using Linux, so type slowly pls!

BTW2. should i use 32 or 64bit (San Diego 3700, 1GB RAM)?

BTW3. sorry if there is an answer, im old and to tierd to search right now

Thanks!

I don't know what San Diego 3700 is but I read in many places that it's currently no point in using 64 bit Linux (or Windows). In many cases it's even a bit slower than 32 bit Linux. No Java or Flash etc. The apps less tested because the major of the users are still using 32bit.

I think if you just turn off the 3d in the MCC, you will have regular desktop..

San Diego is a AMD64 core ;) I will stick to 32bit. And i noticed that a 32bit installation of Mandriva has more packages than 64bit, so theres another + to 32bit :D
