paul
ok all you gnome gurus I've just today switched to gnome (coz I'm playing with xgl and compiz .. and gnome works better than xfce) What I would like is a quick windowlist like right on the desktop, or middle click on the desktop, or ctrl click on the desktop can i? I have window list in my panel .. but its too slow to move my mouse to the exact position
lavaeolus
with alt-tab you can cycle through your active applications, maybe this might do it for you ? maybe you can look in the gnome control center > windows settings, if there is something suitable Edited August 28, 2006 by lavaeolus
tyme
atl+tab works very nicely in XGL/Compiz. which window list are you using on your panel? the one that's just an icon that you click and it pops out a list, or the task bar that has all the windows constantly viewable (much like in windows). paul
both .. I guess I'm just used to having a workspace switcher/window switcher from xfce4 :)
ianw1974
There's usually the workspace switcher on the bar at the bottom of the gnome screen that you can click to switch through screens. I think you can assign a shortcut key if one isn't already.
