ianw1974
Each time I go into themes, or when I save, or open terminals, the default path is always: ~/Desktop and I'd rather just reset this so that it goes to my home/username folder instead. I keep having to go up a level and then down to the directories I want and just wanna save the (small amount of) time to go through this. ianw1974
I found this in gconf editor, but it says you can't edit but should be able to in newer versions. I'm guessing this is the option to change, unless someone knows of elsewhere?!?
apbsa
Mandriva 2006 uses the Desktop folder by default, but you can change this by creating a file called: .mdk-no-desktop-launch in your home directory. I think that should fix the problem.
ianw1974
Is this an empty file? Is a restart of gnome required?
tyme
yes it's empty, and yes you need to restart gnome :)
ianw1974
Nice one chaps Dunno how you knew that, but it worked a treat. Or at least when I opened gnome-terminal it goes to my home/username instead of the Desktop folder beneath it. So I reckon it'll have solved the others as well. Ta v much.
