running shell scripts in kde

Recommended Posts

hi i have several shell scripts that run fine but i want to be able to run them via an application link

on my kde desktop.

eg i want a link on my desktop that when clicked opens up a terminal window and runs the script inside that terminal

i tried setting up a normal link to application in kde but i keep getting:

"Service '/home/john/Desktop/run script' is malformatted."

any help would be appreciated thanks

i have not used kde for a long time but you could have just rightclicked on a desktop, create a shortcut, enter the target app/script and then just check the show terminal checkbox or something. same effect but the xterm route is faster if you are familiar with cli. :#:

ciao!
