Gul Dukat
Seems that your monitor settings are bad.Change in your /etc/xorg.conf "nvidia" to "nv" or "vesa", comment all the glx related lines, and try again... By the way, what's the actual screen you are using? Mmm, that would be a bit strange. As I didn't change the monitor settings. I'm using a Liyama Vision Master Pro 454 @ 1280x1024. Will try those settings you suggested in a moment.
Gul Dukat
@Scarecrow, thanks again for your reply. But I did as you suggested with no result. Even tried changing to vese and later to nv. Also commented all the glx related parts. But the result is the same. I stil can't log in to KDE or any other Window-manager. arctic
Okay, fine. Ignore it. Sometimes, users set up an auto-login function first and if they change later to a non-auto-login, the settings in /etc/sysconfig/autologin can interfere with the settings of the normal login manager, thus preventing them to log into their system. In that case, the autologin file needs to ba altered or removed, but as you don't have that file, ignore the whole thing. :)
