ianw1974
Squid is a proxy server, rather than a shared internet connection thing. If you install drakwizard, you can get squid working with the basics. So: urpmi drakwizard then go into System/Configure Your Computer, and under one of the options there is proxy server. Run this, accept the defaults and you'll have a basic squid proxy. Then you need to point the browsers so that they are manually configured for proxy config to the ip address of the machine with squid running on it, and port 3128. All it means is that the machine with squid running on it will cache web pages, thus making if faster for the other machines if the pages are already local.
