ianw1974
No, that was for the other card, we have a different card this time ;)
Qchem
Then why not use the ndiswrapper database to find which are the best drivers to use? The ones on the CD are usually not the best ones to use!!
Arne
Yes we did but it's not available for this card I have only 2 options 9x directory what ever that means NT direktory probably from microsoft but actally dont know what it means. ianw1974
Hi Arne, Just to clarify, the exact make/model of the network card is linksys WPC54G v3 and it's running a broadcom chipset? What is the access point again? Is it the broadcom or is the broadcom the chipset on the linksys card? This entry here on ndiswrapper: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawi...ndex.php/List#L shows the card you have and the link to the download of the driver that works for it is this: ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/WMP54Gv4_20040415.exe Maybe give this driver a go, and see how you get on with it. edit: Hi Arne, I've downloaded the drivers, and extracted them using wine in case you're having problems extracting. I can email you the file. Let me know if you need me to do this for you.
Qchem
It's worth checking the chipset number (from lspci -n) against the database just to be sure (unless thats what Ian did ) - sometimes manufacturers change chipsets bbut don't change the label on the box. ianw1974
I just checked by model name :P I never knew about checking with the lspci -n option. I'll remember that :D
Arne
Just to clarify The card linksys WPC54G v3 which have a Broadcom BCM4318 chip. The AP is a linksys WAP54G the chip I have not checked since it's not important. I have checked the wiki but I didn't find the exe-file you find. So where did you find it?? Ian. In my first post on this tread I wrote down lspci -n = 05:00.0 Class 0280: 14e4:4318 (rev 2) Both of you should have seen it. I searched the wiki with this info but didn't find it. Thats why I very much like to know where Ian find it. Ian this file is for version 4 and not v.3 and have a different lspci = pciid: 17fe:2220 and have this chipset Chipset: AirConn? IPROCOMM IPN 2220 (rev 01). Ian this file is for version 4 and not v.3 and have a different lspci = pciid: 17fe:2220 and have this chipset Chipset: AirConn? IPROCOMM IPN 2220 (rev 01). ianw1974
I found it on the wiki, and while it say v4, it has a v2 driver within the executable. I hadn't matched against the lspci at that time as it wasn't available. Let me check again, but it was on the link I posted. edit: I was looking at a WMP so my mistake. Card 14 on this list: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawi...ndex.php/List#L is your card I believe. The download mentions acer-euro, but this doesn't mean that it's not applicable for your machine. The model, and lspci -n number and chipset all match your card. My first post was the wrong card. My apologies, correct info below. Card: Linksys #[WPC54G v3], 54Mbps -- [link here|List#WPC54G v3] * Chipset: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 802.11/g Wireless LAN * pciid: 14e4:4318 * Driver: ndiswrapper v1.3 with bcmwl5a.inf ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/...20_5020/driver/ (Broadcom, 12/22/2004, v3.100.46.0) * Other: linux-2.6.8 kernel, debian, card worked well * Other: linux-2.6.14 kernel, debian, ndiswrapper 1.9, wpa_supplicant 0.4.7, driver

ianw1974
The info above tells me it matches your card. Card: Linksys #[WPC54G v3], 54Mbps -- [link here|List#WPC54G v3] * Chipset: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 802.11/g Wireless LAN * pciid: 14e4:4318 so why do you think it doesn't support your card when it matches exactly your make/model and pci-id?!? The last post above I put a new link because the first one was incorrect.
Arne
Qchem, Please tell me how you did this search. You did it in wiki or linux google search? I have not registered in wiki so maybe this is the reason i din't find 11. Ian, Yes it fits exactly but I cannot get to this acer web site. Qchem
Just use your web browser to find the string 14e4:4318 on the wiki page. And FWIW the link to the Acer website works for me.

Arne
After struggling with the browser I managed to download the files from Acer. The files has 2 inf files, bcmwl5a for winp98 and bcmwl5 for winXP2k. the same goes for sys files and cat files. First I tried winxp2k files without the cat file present. No luck Then I tried win98 files ------------"------------------ -----------"---------------- with the cat file present. No luck Looking in syslog this section repeats it self: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] disabled and referenced, BIOS bug.ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] BIOS reported IRQ 0, using IRQ 9 ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] enabled at IRQ 9 ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 9 (level, low) -> IRQ 9 Yenta: CardBus bridge found at 0000:00:02.0 [1014:0092] Yenta: Enabling burst memory read transactions Yenta: Using CSCINT to route CSC interrupts to PCI Yenta: Routing CardBus interrupts to PCI Yenta TI: socket 0000:00:02.0, mfunc 0xfba97543, devctl 0x62 Yenta TI: socket 0000:00:02.0 probing PCI interrupt failed, trying to fix Yenta TI: socket 0000:00:02.0 no PCI interrupts. I had better result with drivers on the CD rom following the card even though I was not able to get it all the way to work. At that time the cat file was not available when I issued the ndiswrapper -i filename.inf. I was able to get wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device xx:xx:.......... written in system log. With this driver it simply do not happen. Please I need advice.
