Have you tried downloading the executable to install the cover editor, and then attempt to install with wine?

What does it report back with? Does it install?

If you've got wine installed, then all you need to do is open a terminal window and then type:

wine nerocovereditorinstaller.exe

obviously, replace the name of the .exe with the name of the installer you downloaded. Also, make sure you are in the same directory as the executable, or type the path to the executable to run it. Eg:

wine Download/nerocovereditorinstaller.exe

If wine is not installed, then:

urpmi wine

to get it installed, and then try to install the application. Sometimes apps won't install for one reason or another. In this case, I've just had it installed in Windows, and then copied it across to Linux and then ran it. Sometimes it will error with dll problems because they don't exist (since you didn't run the installer), so you just copy them to the appropriate place under the .wine/drive_c/windows/system directory or wherever in the wine install.

But first try the installer and see how far you get.

I think the Nero Cover Editos is the best cover editor around

It is, if you never, ever have used any other cover editor. Else, it simply blows socks.

Copying the file to c:/windows/system shouldn't be enough- you should export it after that ( like "regsvr32 comctl32.dll" from a DOS prompt ), but why not installing the full Microshaft Common Controls from say here?

If you have created your wine drive using either winetools or the Sidenet script you wouldn't have to worry about comctl32 and some other system libraries.

If I run that file the comctl32.dll is placed in /home/jethro/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32. But when I then start the setup.exe from Nero it still gives the same error.

When I try another version of Nero it start installing but then it hangs on the part where it is editing the registry...

Edit: that's fixed now, it just took a very long while... I now have to reboot and find out how to start Nero.

I was able to run the cover editor now, but it gave this when I opened a template:

Jethro, you are unable to answer even pretty trivial questions (like: how did you create your wine drive...) so forgive me, but I won't bother participating in this thread anymore... Under those circumstances, it's a complete waste of time, and nothing more than that.

Good luck, you will need it.
